Melissa Data and FreshAddress Team to Deliver
E-Mail Change of Address and List Cleaning Services
Services To Help Companies Keep Their E-mail Lists Up To Date
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA (February 14, 2002) - Data management services provider Melissa Data today announced that it has signed a partnership agreement with FreshAddress to offer FreshAddress' E-mail Change of Address (ECOA) and List Cleaning services to its clients. Under the agreement, Melissa Data will offer FreshAddress services directly to its current and future clients. The two companies will also engage in joint marketing activities.
"With some companies losing as much as 33% of their e-mail records each year due to old or incorrect addresses, Melissa Data recognized the need for a solution that would help our clients maintain and maximize the value of their e-mail address databases," said Mitch McClenney, Data Enhancement Services manager of Melissa Data. "The FreshAddress NCOA For E-mail services will provide our clients with a complementary and cost-effective solution for this previously intractable problem."

Similar to the U.S. Postal Service's NCOA (National Change of Address) service, the E-mail Change of Address (ECOA) service now offered by Melissa Data enables companies to seamlessly update their e-mail lists based on e-mail address changes made through any FreshAddress client or directly at FreshAddress.com, subject to each individual member's permission.
Other FreshAddress services now available through Melissa Data include:
FreshList Service- This service analyzes the e-mail addresses in a company's e-mail list and provides corrections for duplicates, syntax, typographical, formatting, top-level domain and "dead" domain errors. This technology does not just clean lists of faulty addresses but actually provides corrections for these invalid e-mail addresses, enabling companies to reconnect with lost customers.
FreshAddress Network- Built by opt-in members, this network is the Internet's largest database of old, changed and current e-mail addresses. By providing the missing link between an individual's old or other working e-mail addresses and his/her current preferred e-mail address, the FA Network allows individual members to easily inform their friends, contacts and preferred online providers of an e-mail address change.
FailSafe Address Recovery System- FreshAddress maintains a self-registered historic profile of their members' e-mail addresses. If a member's current preferred e-mail address is bouncing, FreshAddress contacts them through one of their other working e-mail addresses to ensure their account is kept up to date.
